Bach House

The world's first and largest museum dedicated to the composer Johann Sebastian Bach stands in Eisenach, the town of his birth. Guests have been able to admire the collection on Bach's life and music since 1907.
Situated at the centre of the Wartburg town, each year thousands of visitors come to admire the valuable exhibits and multimedia art on display at the Bach House. The timber-framed building was built in 1456, its originally-appointed rooms serve to illustrate life during the time of Bach. In 2007 an award-winning new building was constructed adjacent, complementing the historic structure. A unique audio treat bears tribute to the world's most famous composer: a small Bach concert is played live every hour on five Baroque keyboard instruments.
