City Museum in the Augustinian Monastery
The former hermit monastery hosts the city museum. The steeple, parts of the east wing with a late Gothic chapel, remains of the west wing and of the cloister have been preserved from the Gothic construction.
Anybody climbing the Augustinian steeple during the museum tour will reach high altitudes. The reward are interesting views on the Rose City and to the surroundings. The courtyard invites the visitor to linger and to converse with the modern art that is exhibited there.
The museum’s general offer includes the permanent exhibition on the city’s history, special exhibitions, guided tours and lectures. Annual highlights are the museum festival as well as concerts in the cloister.
