Museum am Lindenbühl
The neo-Renaissance building Am Lindenbühl in Mühlhausen has been the seat of the Museum of Local and Regional History since 1947. It was originally erected as a school, between 1868 and 1871, and was used as a trades museum from 1879 onwards.
The Museum of Local and Regional HistoryMühlhausen impresses with both the scope of its collection and the academic use made of it. In addition to permanent natural history and ancient and early history exhibitions visitors can also experience an exhibition of imperial town history unique in Thuringia. The interesting displays present the geology and biology of north-west Thuringia and regional development from the Stone Age to colonisation by the people of Franconia. Special exhibitions are dedicated to cultural and industrial history.
