Unstrut Cycle Path
The Family Cycle Path
The readily accessible Unstrut Cycle Path is particularly suitable for families because of its moderate differences in altitude. Over a distance of 200 km, you can discover the landscape between Thuringia and Sachsen-Anhalt along the river course of the Unstrut.
At the source of the Unstrut in Kefferhausen in the southern Eichsfeld, the Unstrut Cycle Path starts. It leads through varied landscapes and historically important towns like Mühlhausen, Bad Langensalza, Sömmerda, Artern, Freyburg and Naumburg. Up to the place where the Unstrut flows into the Saale, many attractions, sights and nature reserves can be explored along the route. Special highlights could be enjoyed by side trips to the Germanic Opfermoor (Sacrifice Moor) at the geographic centre of Germany, to the Canopy Walkway in the Hainich World Heritage and to the 10 theme gardens in Bad Langensalza.
