Dragon and Landgrave Ravine

Dragon and Landgrave Ravine

In the legendary Dragon Ravine at the end of the city of Eisenach, romantic people, nature fans and geologists get their money’s worth. In the narrow gorge, you walk on footbridges over the water of a roaring creek.

Lush beech forests overgrow the gentle hills of the Thuringian Forest between which the Dragon Ravine and the Landgrave Ravine form wildly romantic cuts.  Unforgettable experiences of nature await the visitor in the outskirts of Eisenach in the Mariental when walking through the wildly romantic Dragon Ravine. In the narrow gorge with a length of good 200 metres, you walk on grates or corduroy roads over a roaring creek, past mossy rocks which are not more than one metre away from each other.  In winter, accessibility of the Dragon Ravine is restricted.
