National Park Hiking Trail

Hiking Trail Craulaer Cross in the Hainich National Park

The Craulaer Cross, an old damaged stone cross which is situated at the edge of the forest near Craula serves as symbol for this hiking trail.

The trail has a length of 7.5 km, is well-developed and can be walked in approx. 3 hours. Starting at the parking lot “Craulaer Kreuz”, the trail leads straight ahead into the forest which is still clearly characterized by forestry cultivation here. Along the way, the strong ground vegetation should be mentioned above all. The dog’s mercury with its deep dark green leaves offers a bold contrast to the silvery shimmering beech trunks.
