Walking in Luther’s tracks - Eisenach-Treffurt section
Over a length of 900 kilometres, the Luther Trail connects the most important Luther places in Thuringia. One of the most beautiful sections leads the hiker from lively Eisenach to romantic Treffurt.
The Wartburg towers high above Eisenach, showing the hiker even from a distance the right way to the perhaps most important Thuringian station on the Luther Trail. In Eisenach, Luther remains alive and the reformation can be experienced at every corner. But very soon, the Luther Trail leads out of the city into the silence of nature. Hikers enjoy the almost untouched beauty of the Hainich foothills up to the little town of Creuzburg. From here, it is only a short hop to the romantic city of Treffurt with its half-timbered houses.
