Bad Tennstedt

Thanks to its sulphur bath, Bad Tennstedt, to the north of Bad Langensalza, has long since become a Mecca for spa guests. Modern therapeutic methods and active recovery in nature go hand in hand here.
Everywhere in the city, wells produce sulphurous water, but the largest sulphur spring can be found in the spa gardens around the rehabilitation clinic Bad Tennstedt. It provides the Kneipp facilities with healing water. The power of water also plays a role on the small Kneipp railway line. The hiking trail will be Germany’s longest Kneipp hiking trail in future and at the same time, it explains the history of small railway line which was operated on this route in the past. Cyclists enjoy extensive tours on the K² cycle path along the old small railway line. Many jewels are characteristic of the country flair of the region such like, for example, the historic Edelhof in Mittelsömmern and the old baking house in Blankenburg as well as the individual village churches.
