In the Southeast of the World Heritage Region, the municipality of Hörselberg-Hainich is situated. Anybody pitching camp here will have found the perfect starting point for excursions.
In some of the 17 villages of the municipality, the guests can hear the hissing of the wildcats, because they are that close to the shy residents of the Hainich National Park. The wildcat village Hütscheroda belongs to the municipality and magically attracts children in particular. Located directly between the world heritage site of the Hainich Park and the cultural heritage of the Wartburg, the small villages are an Eldorado for hikers. Hiking trails through the Hainich Park are equally attractive as the routes through the “fabulous” Hörselberge. The Venus Cave is situated there which is supposed to have Richard Wagner inspired to create his “Tannhäuser“. Our cultural tip: the sculpture park in Behringen and the sculpture path in Hütscheroda.
