Administration Community of Unstrut-Hainich

The proximity to the Hainich Park and the Unstrut river gave the administration community of "Unstrut-Hainich" its name, including the municipalities of Altengottern, Großengottern, Heroldishausen, Flarchheim, Schönstedt with the districts of Alterstedt, Mülverstedt and Weberstedt.

These municipalities are situated at the northern edge of the Thuringian Basin and offer quiet residential locations with a working infrastructure and high quality of life in scenically charming surroundings. Cycle paths and roads connect the locations with each other and directly lead to the beautiful hikers’ parking lots at the edge of the National Park. There you can find information boards pointing out to well-described trails and inviting to impressive hiking tours through the unique beech forests at any time of the year and to experience the particularities of the Hainich National Park by oneself.
